About the Associated Students of UCSD (ASUCSD)

The Associated Students of the University of California, San Diego are the elected and appointed representatives of the UC San Diego student body. The ASUCSD works to promote student engagement through its services and leadership opportunities. The ASUCSD seeks to foster a cohesive community through active interaction and communication with students, the administration, and the greater San Diego Community. Our mission is to facilitate and encourage students to grow and develop through their involvement in student government, its services and auxiliaries. We promote student engagement in all areas of campus life through leadership, advocacy, and service in order to build and strengthen our community.

About the AVP College Affairs

The purpose of the College Affairs Office is to cultivate the relationship between the College Councils and the Associated Students Council and the relationships between the College Councils themselves.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all activities within the College Affairs Office.
  • Select the membership of the College Affairs Office.
  • Shall cultivate the relationship between the College Councils and the Associated Students Council and the relationship between the Colleges Councils themselves.
  • Coordinate and meet weekly with the Chair or President of each College Council for the purpose of coordinating recruiting efforts and programming among the colleges.
  • Meet and coordinate quarterly with each College Council to foster a greater connection to the Associated Students and other College Councils.
  • Meet quarterly with the Council of Deans of Student Affairs.
  • Oversee the AS First Year Council and guide First Year Senators.
  • Plan and execute an All Council Retreat once a year between AS Council and all the College Councils.
  • Bring the AS Executive members to each College Council meeting quarterly.

Timeline

  • Applications will be due by Friday, May 13th at 11:59pm. Completed applications may be submitted online using this form. Upon submission of the application you will be contacted to sign up for an interview.
  • Interviews will be held May 16-20. We ask that you please be flexible with your schedule in order to accommodate the interview schedule.
  • If selected, you will be asked to attend the A.S. Council meeting on Wednesday, May 25, 2014.
