About the Office

As AVP Local Affairs, I plan to forge a two way relationship between students and local leaders in the greater San Diego area, including local Native American communities. San Diego County has a total of 18 Native American reservations, more than any other county in the United States, yet Native American students represent the lowest demographic in the student body. They are a part of greater San Diego area, and I look forward to working with these communities to not only understand ways to outreach to the prospective students, but also on how UCSD can play a larger role with them as well. I also intend to work with SPACES on their outreach and access ideas for other student communities, who historically have been underrepresented.
