2014 SIAPS Summer Summit Program [ July 21 - 26 ]

Summer Summit is a 6-day, 5-night residential program for high school students designed and run by the Student Initiated Access Programs and Services (SIAPS) at UC San Diego. This program invites 10th-12th grade high school students from the San Diego area to stay in one of UCSD’s residential life halls. During the program, students reside in a suite with 6-8 other high school students and a Resource Advisor (a current UCSD student). Participants will have opportunities to:

  • Experience residential life on a college campus;
  • Build up their interpersonal and leadership skills;
  • Gain information and resources about 4-year university admission;
  • Be familiarized with  on-campus resources such as community centers, transition programs, research opportunities, etc.
  • Engage in skill building activities for leadership, personal growth, and academic success.
  • Develop and strengthen their critical thinking skills.

There are multiple ways for UCSD students and alumni to get involved:

Serve as a Volunteer: We need volunteers to help out throughout the program to lead activities with the students, facilitate workshops, and help set up various activities. Listed below are the different ways you can volunteer and if you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the Summer Summit Volunteer Interest Form. Volunteers will receive a Summer Summit Shirt.

Be a Workshop Facilitator: During the program, we provide students with workshops covering a number of topics ranging from UC A-G Requirements to Family Relationships to Identity Development. Click here if you are interested in facilitating a workshop.

Serve on the Planning Committee: This program is created for students by students. We need your help in creating this year’s program. Planning committees will generally on Mondays-Thursdays from 2-5pm at SPACES.

New Campus ID Cards!

Campus Cards is excited to announce a new design for the Student Triton ID Card, developed by the Associate Students and Campus Card Office. The new Triton Card will be phased in through attrition and begin circulation with the incoming class of 2014. Two cards will be in circulation on campus until 2018. We feel the design encompasses the UC San Diego Triton Spirit and offers a timeless icon that will grow with campus.
~~Check Blink and TritonLink on May 1, 2014 for a preview of the new design~~
