New Campus ID Cards!

Campus Cards is excited to announce a new design for the Student Triton ID Card, developed by the Associate Students and Campus Card Office. The new Triton Card will be phased in through attrition and begin circulation with the incoming class of 2014. Two cards will be in circulation on campus until 2018. We feel the design encompasses the UC San Diego Triton Spirit and offers a timeless icon that will grow with campus.
~~Check Blink and TritonLink on May 1, 2014 for a preview of the new design~~

The indie electro-pop duo released its first single (and video) in December 2011, and it didn’t take long for the critics to take note. Within a few weeks, “Day Dreams” was featured on tastemaker music blog, Neon Gold Records, and San Francisco commercial radio titan, Live 105, crowned Midi Matilda their “Favorite New Band of 2012”. A few months later, a HuffPo feature placed them in “the ranks of the Bay Area’s indie pop guard.” They’re accessible. They’re down to earth. They want the same thing you want… for everyone to have a great time. And in a time when pop music tends to feel so impersonal and hermetically sealed, Midi Matilda is a blast of fresh air.

ASCE Comedy: Brent Weinbach and Beth [The Loft | 8:00p]

FREE for UCSD Students! ($10 General Admission)

***********

Brent Weinbach (http://www.brentweinbach.com/)

Brent Weinbach's stand-up comedy is weird and stupid and smart and physical and post-modern and random and other stuff.  He also has a t-shirt with his name and his face on it.

Brent is a winner and recipient of the Andy Kaufman Award, which is given out once a year to recognize innovation in stand-up comedy.  He has appeared on Conan, Lopez Tonight, Comedy Central, HBO, IFC, and toured with the Comedians of Comedy.

"...obscenely, disturbingly brilliant." -L.A. Weekly

"...weird in the best way" -Time Out NY

"Name To Watch" -New York Magazine

"Weinbach's comedy is about poaching characters from real life and inhabiting them that you forget who you're watching onstage." -East Bay Express

"weird, scary, hilarious" -Time Out NY

Beth Stelling (http://sweetbeth.com/)

LA Weekly just named Stelling  on a list of “12 L.A. Comedy Acts to Watch in 2013.” She was a New Face of Comedy at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal which prompted Beth to relocate to Los Angeles. A few months after arriving in LA, she made her standup television debut on TBS’s Conan.
