  • ACQUIRE Campaign Coordinator

The Associated Students of the University of California, San Diego are the elected and appointed representatives of the UC San Diego student body. The ASUCSD works to promote student engagement through its services and leadership opportunities. The ASUCSD seeks to foster a cohesive community through active interaction and communication with students, the administration, and the greater San Diego Community. Our mission is to facilitate and encourage students to grow and develop through their involvement in student government, its services and auxiliaries. We promote student engagement in all areas of campus life through leadership, advocacy, and service in order to build and strengthen our community.


The AS Office of External Affairs shall work to educate the UC San Diego student body about issues regarding higher education and provide students opportunities to engage with other UC campuses and state and federal stakeholders. The Office shall serve to advocate for the enhancement of the University of California system through efforts of its own and those of the University of California Student Association. The Office of External Affairs shall achieve these means through working with multi-campus partners, legislators, and others and shall oversee the efforts of the Office of Local Affairs, the Student Organized Voter Access Coalition, and the Triton Lobby Corps.


The ACQUIRE Campaign was founded based on the reality that academic success depends on the availability of holistic resources and protections. Some of these resources and protections may include, but are not limited to: safety from interpersonal violence, sexual violence, and hate crimes; retention services; mental and physical health services; academic accommodations; and support for basic needs. This legislative session, the campaigns' goal are to ensure permanent funding for undocumented students services centers. 


Duties of the ACQUIRE Campaign Coordinator include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with the other UC Campuses respective representatives 
  • Examine methods for increasing Undocument Student Services support on a federal level
  • Attend all External Office Staff Meetings as requested by the Organizing Director
  • Seek to establish formal communication between AS and the Undocumented Student Services Center.
