About the Office of Campus Affairs
The Associated Students Office of Campus Affairs strives to connect the student body with ASUCSD and the additional projects, services, and advocacy work our association organizes. Additionally, the Office of Campus Affairs manages the internal workings of AS, including but not limited to recruitment, committee appointments, and training and professional development for members of AS. Ultimately the Office of Campu Affair is charged with ensuring students may participate in our campus’ governance, and holding our own members accountable
Chief Communications Officer Responsibilities
Shall oversee the Communications Team, with the mission of developing and curating publicity campaigns, outreach efforts, and additional initiatives aiming to enhance AS’ connection to the student body
Shall regularly work with AS Graphic Studios, Triton Television, the Office of Campus Affairs, and additional partners to develop and coordinate AS outreach efforts
Shall coordinate with AS Graphic Studios to modify and enhance the Associated Students website
Shall assist the Event Programming Team in promotional and marketing efforts for Office of Campus Affairs’ sponsored events
Shall attend all Campus Affairs staff meetings, mandated trainings and events
Additional duties as assigned
In preparation for your interview, we ask that all candidates propose a publicity campaign with the overall goal of promoting AS to the student body according to the following outline.
The Chief Communications Officer is a new position within Associated Students, and will be responsible for collaborating with various AS entities, including AS Public Relations, AS Graphic Studio, and the various divisions within our association. A key skill in order to be successful in this role is marketing and communications strategy, effective communication, and creative branding & marketing. The Office of Campus Affairs ultimately is responsible for connecting the student body with our association, and more importantly our members, and their projects, initiatives, and advocacy efforts.
As part of your application and interview process, please develop a marketing/publicity campaign to increase students' knowledge of AS. You have complete creative freedom over branding, marketing, budget, etc. Your presentation will be given as part of your interview and will be judged on its creativity, feasibility, and strategy. Your presentation should be between 5-8 minutes.
