Christian Perez joined the professional staff team of ASUCSD as the Community Programs Advisor in 2021 after having previously served as UC San Diego’s Overnight Program Coordinator in 2020. Christian received his Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine where his efforts culminated in a mentoring program dedicated to ending the stigma surrounding learning differences. Afterwards, Christian received his Master’s in Higher Education Leadership from the University of San Diego where he worked as the Graduate Assistant for Student Engagement within the School of Leadership & Education Sciences. Christian’s professional interests includes student engagement as it relates to accessibility & inclusion, retention, and community-building. Outside of the academic realm, Christian enjoys spending his time producing music for his alt-rock band Lost Dakota, concert photography (in pre-covid times), and spending time with his dog child, Kaia.
