The Chief Operating Officer (COO) serves as the officer responsible for the Association's general administrative and personnel management functions, ensuring operational efficiency and supporting the Association's ability to meet its priorities on behalf of UC San Diego students.

The COO oversees the internal workings of the Association, managing hiring, onboarding, and personnel policies to cultivate a strong and effective team. This role also leads professional development initiatives, helping Association personnel grow in their roles and contribute meaningfully to the organization's mission. By keeping and maintaining records of public interest and advising Executive Officers on compliance with the Association's bylaws and internal regulations, the COO ensures that the Association operates with transparency, accountability, and integrity.

As a key connector within the Association, the COO facilitates communications between the Executive Officers and the Senate, while providing administrative support to both the Senate and Cabinet. Through the administration of the Department of Internal Administration, the COO works behind the scenes to keep the Association running smoothly, so that every officer, team, and initiative is equipped to serve the student body effectively.
