Eighth College Council Election

Below you will find candidate information as part of the 2026 student government elections. Students can vote starting April 6 - 10, 2026 via Triton Link. For more information about the election, please visit the elections page or contact the Eighth College Elections Manager and the Eighth College Elections Representative at eyabut@ucsd.edu. 

 Candidate information will be shared at the end of the filing period. 

Associated Students Senator

    Jonah Kravitz

    I am running for re-election as Eighth College Senator to continue advocating for the students of our college. Over the past term, I have focused on initiatives that directly improve student life, academic experience, and well-being. Key achievements include:

     

    • Contributing to the drafting of the Geisel Library Resolution 24-Hour Weekday Access
    • Working on Senator projects to reduce meal costs in dining halls
    • Supporting funding for student programs and events
    • Supported the creation and discussion of legislation as Vice Chair of the Legislative Committee
    • Advocating for student rights and improved facilities, including parking availability
    • Promoting better access to healthcare for students
    • Working on academic transparency in professor funding sources

     

    These experiences have taught me that listening carefully to students and taking decisive action makes a real difference. Every voice matters, and advocacy is most effective when it reflects the priorities of the people it serves.

    If re-elected, I will focus on strengthening communication with Eighth College students to understand the issues that matter most, from mental health and academic support to campus resources and community-building programs. I will continue to champion policies that enhance student life, increase access to resources, and ensure that Eighth College students feel heard and represented.

    I am committed to building on the progress we’ve made and creating a college community where students have both a voice and a seat at the table. Your ideas and concerns are essential to shaping the future of Eighth College, and I am eager to continue working alongside you to turn them into action.
