President

  • Paul Bravo

    Paul Bravo

I believe we have a sacred responsibility to stand up and advocate for our student body to make their lives just a bit easier and more enjoyable, because if not us then who?

I’ve been involved with student government for seven consecutive years, dating back to the beginning of my time in high school, serving in a diverse range of roles, representing and uplifting my student communities across three different campuses. This year, I’ve had the honor of serving as Transfer Senator on Sixth College Student Council, and leading the charge to reach out to students across the eight colleges as head of the campus wide A.S transfer-focused commission (CACTRA).

Now, I’m running to be your next President because I believe we’re at a critical moment in our time. One that demands leadership that will defend and advocate for the interests of our community, and give everyone a fair say and an even chance in determining our future. I’m committed to pushing a platform that prioritizes YOUR voice, empowering those within our own council to do their best work, and furthering the momentum in building a coalition beyond our own college community, from the eight colleges to the school wide level. I’ve stood by these values for years, I stand by them now, and I hope you’ll stand with me.

    Zoey Caputi

Hi Sixers! My name is Zoey Caputi and I am running to be your next Sixth College Student Council President. I am a current second year majoring in Political Science with minors in Spanish Literature and English Literature.

This next term will be my third year as a dedicated Sixth College Council leader. I have held countless roles in council and have fallen in love with the college system thanks to these avenues of opportunity that SCSC has presented to me.

I have vast experience in programming, community building, outreach, administrative tasks, advocacy, and representation, developed amidst the positions that I have held thus far at UCSD:

    • Sixth College RA (‘26 & '26-'27)
    • Sixth College Student Council Director of Special Events (‘25-’26)
    • AS Office of College Affairs Director of Programming (‘25-’26)
    • Sixth College CoBoard GBM Chair (‘25-’26)
    • Sixth College Student Council Secretary (‘24-’25)
    • AS Office of Environmental Justice Affairs Director of Media and Outreach (‘25)
    • Sixth College’s AS Elections Representative and Manager (‘25)
    • Sixth College Interim AS Senator (‘24-’25)

I want to give back to the community that has given me so much, and can do that best as your next President through the creation of a college community that emphasizes transparency, togetherness, and harmony. I will ensure that all Sixer’s voices are heard through leading council meetings and personally supporting all of our representatives, advocates, senators, directors, and administration team that make our council the representative governing body that it is.

I am deeply passionate about Sixth College Student Council and a fierce advocate for Sixth College. I am so excited for the upcoming year, and all the wonderful things we can accomplish together as Sixers.

Vice President Internal

    Hilary Arellano

Serving on Sixth College Student Council this past year has truly been one of the most meaningful parts of my time at UCSD. Being able to work alongside such passionate and creative members has made the experience extremely rewarding, and it is one of the main reasons I am excited to reapply for the position of Vice President Internal!

During my time on council, I have had the opportunity to grow both personally and as a leader. I helped with programming events, participated in community outreach, and helped manage the internal communication of the council. While challenging at first, these experiences taught me the importance of collaboration, organization, and flexibility in team settings.

Most importantly, this role has shown me how much I enjoy supporting the people around me. If reelected, I hope to continue strengthening communication within the council and helping members feel supported in their roles. Through my experience in this role, I have developed a strong understanding of its responsibilities and challenges, and I hope to use that knowledge as a strength to continue improving and helping Sixth College Council achieve even more in the coming term.

It would be an honor to continue serving and giving back to the Sixth community that has given me so much. I would love to contribute meaningful impacts as your Vice President Internal!

  • Joshua Chaidez

    Joshua Chaidez

My name is Joshua Chaidez, and I am excited to be running for the Vice President Internal (VPI) position for Sixth College Student Council (SCSC). As a first-generation, second-year student, I am eager to strengthen both the council and the broader Sixth community.

Currently, I serve as the Second Year Senator for Sixth College Student Council. Throughout my time in this role, I have worked to create memorable student engagement opportunities and build community. In particular, my bingo social event in collaboration with CoBoard was especially rewarding to create as we were able to bring together over 140 undergraduate students, making it one of SCSC’s most well-attended events. In addition to planning events in this role, I am also responsible for the allocation of Sixth student fees by voting on various budgets and determining whether proposed expenses are an effective use of student funds.

Outside of SCSC, I am involved with the Associated Students office of Concerts and Events (ASCE) as a Bear Garden Intern. Through this position, I organize and execute UCSD’s largest and most populous events, including Sun God Festival, Bear Gardens, Horizon, and much more. Being part of this programming board has really allowed me to develop strong event planning and leadership skills that I use to create meaningful experiences for the student body.

Through my involvement in both SCSC and ASCE, I have developed the experience needed for the VPI position. I am particularly interested in this role because it focuses on improving the internal structure and collaboration of our council. With my involvement, I have seen firsthand how significant organization, communication, and team development are to the success of our student council. As VPI, I would be excited to take the lead on planning of council retreats and the coordination of appointments. With my background in event planning and working in teams, I am confident that I can create an engaging and organized environment that allows the council to operate at its fullest potential to best serve the Sixth College Community.

Thank you for your support and consideration!

Vice President Finance

  • Loraine Diosa

    Loraine Diosa

    Hi Sixers,

My name is Loraine Diosa, and I am a third-year, first-generation college student double majoring in Business Economics and Media Industries & Communication, with a minor in Marketing. I currently serve as your Sixth College Student Council (SCSC) Vice President of Finance for the 2025–26 term, and this past year has given me invaluable experience advocating for how your student fees are allocated and ensuring they directly benefit our Sixth College community.

As a Sixth Resident Assistant and a Communication Department UG Peer Advisor, I work closely with council members, students, and especially Sixers every day. I see firsthand the challenges that we all face on the daily; navigating academics, finances, involvement, and finding belonging on campus. These roles have strengthened my ability to listen, communicate clearly, and serve students from all backgrounds with empathy and accountability.

This year on Council, I’ve had the privilege of serving on SCSC Executive Board and learning the ropes from those before me, my peers, and our dedicated advisors. I’ve gained a deeper understanding of how SCSC operates behind the scenes, most namely in budgeting, policy and processes, understanding our bylaws, and supporting event planning for long-term initiatives that shape the student experience. I’m proud of the work we’ve done, and I know there is even more I can accomplish in another term as the VP Finance.

I am running because I care deeply about accessibility, transparency, and creating meaningful opportunities for Sixers to thrive. I want every student to feel heard, supported, and confident that their fees are being used intentionally and responsibly, especially as I'll be in my very last year here at UCSD and as a Sixer.

It would be an honor to continue serving you in this role.

Thank you for your trust and consideration!

    — Loraine Diosa

Vice President Programming

  • Angela Chen

    Angela Chen

Hey Sixers! My name is Angela Chen, and I’m so excited to run for Vice President Programming for Sixth College Student Council.

Have you ever attended a Sixth College event, whether it was our annual festival Kunchocshun or one of the smaller events on the lawns that bring our community together? Some of my favorite memories at UCSD have come from moments like those. As the current Festival Director for SCSC, I’ve had the opportunity to lead the planning of many of these events and work closely with other directors to turn ideas into memories for Sixers.

I joined SCSC during my very first quarter at UCSD, and it quickly became one of the most meaningful parts of my college experience. Over the past two years, I’ve planned events, volunteered my time, and worked alongside other passionate students who care deeply about making Sixth an even better place. I’ve also learned how much creativity, teamwork, and care goes into building programming that truly brings our community together.

I’m running for VP Programming because I would love the opportunity to support and mentor future event directors. Having been in their position, I understand both the excitement and the challenges of planning events, and I hope to share the knowledge and experience I’ve gained to help directors feel confident bringing their ideas to life.

Outside of SCSC, I’m also involved in other parts of campus, including serving as Chief of Staff – Programming in the AS Office of Spirit and Athletics and as VP of HR in Lumnus Consulting. Through these roles, I’ve gained leadership and coordination experience that directly prepares me to support directors and strengthen programming in SCSC.

Sixth has given me so many amazing memories, from being a council member to serving as an Orientation Leader and meeting incredible Sixers from freshmen to seniors. I would truly love the opportunity to continue giving back to this community and helping create lasting memories for Sixers!

Thank you so much for your consideration, and I hope to earn your support <3

  • Tom Klappenecker

    Tom Klappenecker

    Hello Sixers,

My name is Tom Klappenecker, and I am a second year Computer Science major and your current Sixth College Technology Director. Over the past two years, I have helped host various tech events, including Mario Kart tournaments, movie nights, and gaming expos. Through these events I have ensured collaborations with other student organizations across campus, such as the Triton Film Society and Triton Gaming, and I am currently collaborating with IEEE at UC San Diego to help bring engaging, large-scale events to students. These partnerships have shown me how powerful cross-organization collaboration can be in creating experiences that truly bring Sixth together. In addition, I have supported other Sixth College events, such as Passport to Sixth and Sixth College Spirit Week, ensuring they run smoothly.

As your Vice President of Programming, I will:

    • Expand partnerships with student organizations at UC San Diego so they can host events at Sixth without paying venue fees and seek funding from the Sixth College Student Council Finance Committee.
    • Bring bigger, better, and more interactive experiences to students, making sure your activity fees go toward memorable events.
    • Support the Sixth College Programming Board so they can organize amazing events without sacrificing their studies.
    • Actively gather and implement student input so every Sixer feels seen and heard.

From Big Bear and Disney trips to our Spring music festival, Kuncocshun, I want every Sixth event to feel exciting, inclusive, and unforgettable. Together, we can continue building innovative, interconnected events that celebrate our cultures, support creativity, embrace cutting-edge technology, and showcase the unity and pride that make Sixth College so special.

Vote Tom Klappenecker for Vice President of Programming.

Second Year Senator

  • Vineesha Manimangalam

    Vineesha Manimangalam

As the First Year Senator of Sixth College Student Council, I am uniquely qualified for the position of Second Year Senator.

This last term has given me the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in the Senator role and all that it entails. From being a part of the finance committee, where I have seen how a single meeting can determine resources for Sixers, to the events I’ve volunteered at hosted by council members that transformed students’ feelings of stress, anxiety, and fear into resilience and togetherness, I have been inspired. Inspired by being immersed in an environment of individuals that have a genuine passion for the betterment of the student body. Inspired to carry that legacy into my next role and next term in council for second year students.

Serving as First Year Senator gave me a foundation in governing and advocating for the needs of Sixers. However, my involvement goes beyond that. From seeing the development of keystone events to hosting my own event, Sunset Yoga at Sixth, I’ve learned that the most successful initiatives are those that make the wellbeing of Sixers a priority. And I’m ready to take action.

As a public health researcher, I bring a data-driven approach. I’ll use technology, whether it’s through metrics or social media to ensure that each and every second year has access to a plethora of resources, from finding housing to overcoming the sophomore slump.

As a mental health advocate, I see art and wellness not as hobbies, but as core needs. Building off of my own initiative, I will continue to create opportunities for second year students to stay involved with Sixth through programming that reduces stressors.

And as a proud immigrant with a multilingual and multicultural upbringing, I understand first-hand about the value of finding “home,” not just a place, but a feeling. In a large university like UCSD, that home becomes more and more difficult to find. Even so, I aspire to build belonging at Sixth through celebrating culture. It’s by celebrating differences and what makes each Sixer unique that brings us closer to each other.

I have the experience, the passion, but most importantly, I have a vision. A vision to make Sixth stronger than ever before. To pursue impact. Together.

Vote Vineesha Manimangalam for Second Year Senator.

Associated Students Senator (2)

  • Sam Helvig

    Sam Helvig

Hi Sixers! It has been an honor to serve as your AS Senator this past year, and I’m excited for the opportunity to continue representing you. In my next term, I will maintain my commitment to funding the most important areas of student life, expand student outreach, and create fun opportunities that bring our community together.

I have three years of experience on Sixth College Student Council and have been actively involved in student organizations across UCSD. I understand how much student orgs and traditional events contribute to the student experience here and I intend to make sure they receive the funding that they need to thrive.

A core priority has always been making sure every student feels supported and has access to the resources available to them. I will remain accessible to all Sixers for guidance on club funding policy, help with navigating resources, or to address any concerns that may arise.

My initiatives and events have been both resource oriented and community building efforts. As Sixth College Civic Engagement Representative, I coordinated with student organizations to provide voter guide resources to the community. As Senator next year, I plan to continue my commitment to civic engagement ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. I also hosted a Sixth College Bingo event last year, which I hope to bring back as a recurring series next year.

Throughout this term, I have prioritized transparency and accountability, ensuring that student fees are reinvested back into the student community through events, resources, and initiatives that directly benefit you. Launching a form for questions and concerns as well as an informative tabling series has been part of this transparency effort. As your Senator, I will continue pushing both Sixth College Student Council and AS to support student needs to the fullest extent. I’m committed to making Sixth College a place where every student feels represented, supported, and connected.

Thank you for your support, and I hope to continue serving you.
