Vice President of Academic Affairs
The Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA) leads the Association’s work on academic policy, student advocacy in education, and collaboration with faculty governance. This role serves as the primary liaison between the student body and the Academic Senate, ensuring that student perspectives are represented in decisions that impact academics at UC San Diego.
The VPAA oversees student appointments to Academic Senate committees and provides the resources and support needed for students to effectively contribute in these spaces. They also supervise initiatives and projects related to academic issues, working with campus partners and student organizations to improve the academic experience.
Through advocacy, representation, and collaboration, the Vice President of Academic Affairs helps shape policies and programs that enhance academic success and ensure student voices are heard in the university’s academic decision-making processes.
